Pembroke Lakes Animal Hospital was founded in 1986 with a dual purpose: to provide the best possible care to pets and piece of mind to their owners. Dr. Sam Strauss and staff have been helping to keep the pets of Pembroke Pines healthy and happy for fifteen years.

We are the ONLY AAHA certified practice in town! We are a full-service hospital that has a four-year accreditation with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). This accreditation means that we have met or surpassed numerous specifications to provide the utmost in service and care to you and your pet. We are commited to strengthening the human-companion animal bond.

Dr. Strauss is also currently affiliated with the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and is a current member of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA) as well as the Broward County Veterinary Medical Association (BCVMA). Dr. Strauss also does extensive work with birds as is affiliated with the Avian Veterinarian Medical Association.

One unique service offered at Pembroke Lakes Animal Hospital is our availability of on-site specialists in Neurology and Surgery. Our latest technology is Radiosurgery and Endoscopy. Ask us about both!

Dr. Rupp graduated in July 2000 from Ohio State University. He completed his internship in exotic and avian medicine.

Dr. Sam Strauss

Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Strauss currently owns Pembroke Lakes Animal Hospital. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1982.
